CONSCIENTISATION PROGRAMME REPORT
SOCIAL MEDIA ABUSE AMONG SCHOOL STUDENTS
From the very beginning, human beings always associated themselves to some form of social structure as they evolved across generations. Efforts to support social networks and technology innovations have always been perceived as either boon or a curse to the mankind. Social network can be also weighed in the same balance where it has many perceived beneficial aspects as compared to some adverse effects to the overall well being. The growing popularity of social media has become an international phenomenon. Today school students and teenagers shows very much interest for using social networks. Many uses of social media like informative news, educational platforms, media sharing are highly beneficial for the students as well as teachers. But the chances of abuse and misuse among students is a case for scrutiny. As the social networking is being increasingly used as an education and information resource, we have to decide how to make it a non-abuse place for our society, especially for youngsters. This conscientisation programme aims to provide an awareness for the students of Govt V H S S Thattamala on the misuse, abuse and advantages of social media.
